ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 377

Introduced by Storm, 23; DeKay, 40; Wordekemper, 15.
WHEREAS, the 2026 Nebraska School Activities Association Class D-1 Girls
State Basketball Championships were held on March 7, 2026, at Pinnacle Bank
Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska; and
WHEREAS, the Howells-Dodge High School Jaguars defeated the Bloomfield
High School Bees in the championship game by a score of 45-42 winning the
championship title; and
WHEREAS, the Howells-Dodge basketball team finished the season with a
record of twenty-two wins and seven losses; and
WHEREAS, Coach Scott Polacek provided the leadership to cap a 22-7 winning
season with a state championship; and
WHEREAS, such a team achievement is made possible through the support of
teachers, administrators, parents, and the community; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes the academic, athletic, and artistic
achievements of the youth of our state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates the Howells-Dodge High School girls
basketball team on winning the 2026 Nebraska School Activities Association
Class D-1 Girls State Basketball Championship title.
2. That copies of this resolution be sent to the Howells-Dodge girls
basketball team and Coach Scott Polacek.
