ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 395
Introduced by Prokop, 27.
WHEREAS, the 2026 Nebraska School Activities Association Class A Boys
State Basketball Championship was held at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln,
Nebraska, on March 14, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Lincoln Southwest High School Silver Hawks defeated the
Papillion-La Vista South High School Titans and secured a 57-53 victory; and
WHEREAS, with this victory, the Silver Hawks claimed the first state
championship in program history and became the first Lincoln team to win the
title since 2003; and
WHEREAS, Lincoln Southwest concluded the season with an outstanding 24-4
record, demonstrating perseverance, teamwork, and determination throughout the
season; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of head coach Alex Bahe, the Silver Hawks
achieved this historic win by emphasizing skill, discipline, and teamwork; and
WHEREAS, such a team achievement is made possible through the support of
teachers, administrators, parents, and the community; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes the academic, athletic, and artistic
achievements of the youth of our state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates the Lincoln Southwest High School
boys basketball team for winning the 2026 Nebraska School Activities
Association Class A Boys State Basketball Championship title.
2. That copies of this resolution be sent to the Lincoln Southwest High
School boys basketball team and head coach Alex Bahe.
