ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 396
Introduced by Lippincott, 34.
WHEREAS, The University of Nebraska Cornhusker men's basketball team had a
historic season; and
WHEREAS, Nebraska was selected as a four seed in the National Collegiate
Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men's Basketball Tournament; and
WHEREAS, Nebraska played Troy in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on
Thursday, March, 19, 2026, in Oklahoma City; and
WHEREAS, Nebraska defeated Troy with a score of 76-47; and
WHEREAS, the victory over Troy gave the Nebraska men's basketball team its
first win in an NCAA Tournament; and
WHEREAS, the Nebraska men's basketball team continue to be a source of
pride for the community, students, alumni, and fans of the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes the academic, athletic, and artistic
achievements of the youth of our state and celebrates the historic achievements
of the University of Nebraska men's basketball team this season.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates the University of Nebraska men's
basketball team and Head Coach Fred Hoiberg on the team's historic season and
achieving the first NCAA Tournament win in school history for the men's
basketball team.
2. That copies of this resolution be sent to coach Hoiberg and the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln men's basketball team.
