ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 397

Introduced by Clouse, 37; Lonowski, 33.
WHEREAS, the 2026 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II
National Wrestling Championships were held on March 14, 2026, in Sioux Falls,
South Dakota; and
WHEREAS, the University of Nebraska at Kearney Lopers earned the national
title after a tightly contested championship match between their own Otgonbayar
Batsuuri and the University of Central Oklahoma's Hunter Jump; and
WHEREAS, winning the championship was a team effort with six Lopers
earning All-American honors; and
WHEREAS, Coach Dalton Jensen was named the 2026 National Championship
Coach of the Year; and
WHEREAS, this is the University of Nebraska at Kearney's second year in a
row and sixth time overall earning the national championship title; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes the academic, athletic, and artistic
achievements of the collegiate students of our state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates the University of Nebraska at
Kearney's men's wrestling team on winning the 2026 National Collegiate Athletic
Association Division II National Wrestling Championship title.
2. That copies of this resolution be sent to Coach Dalton Jensen and the
University of Nebraska at Kearney wrestling team.
