ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 433
Introduced by Dover, 19.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to propose an interim study to
examine the necessity of a robust and well-integrated education and workforce
system to support long-term economic growth that enables learners to move
efficiently from education and training to employment in high-demand and high-
wage occupations across the state.
The study shall include, but not be limited to, an examination of the
following:
(1) Education and workforce data infrastructure and data governance and
the use of integrated education and workforce data to guide policy decisions in
support of economic growth;
(2) The role and capacity of the Nebraska Statewide Workforce and
Educational Reporting System, commonly referred to as NSWERS, including
opportunities to expand participation and analytic capacity and strengthen
links between education and workforce outcomes such as employment, earnings,
and retention of graduates within the state and workforce;
(3) Nebraska's established statewide goal of a minimum of seventy percent
of working-age adults hold a postsecondary credential or degree of value in the
workforce to support economic competitiveness and workforce participation;
(4) Opportunities to link education, credential, apprenticeship, and
employment data to better understand how students and workers move from
education and training into the workforce and which education pathways and
programs lead to the strongest employment outcomes;
(5) Collaboration across early childhood programs, elementary and
secondary education, postsecondary education, workforce development, and
employers to support aligned education and career pathways;
