Bills Worth Reading With This One

These pairings are meant to flag bills from the same session that may have a bigger real-world effect when you read them together.

SF0112

Both bills address issues related to law enforcement and public safety, with Bill A focusing on retirement benefits for spouses of law enforcement members and Bill B establishing confidentiality protections for peer support counseling.

Medium confidence Needs review

Possible combined effect: While the two bills have different focuses within the broader context of law enforcement, they both aim to improve conditions and support systems for law enforcement personnel. Reading them together provides a comprehensive view of legislative efforts to enhance benefits and mental health support for law enforcement members.

Why this got flagged:
  • Both bills address different aspects of supporting law enforcement personnel, making them relevant when considered together. Bill A focuses on financial benefits while Bill B addresses mental health and emotional support.
  • amending death benefits for the Law Enforcement Retirement Plan
  • providing benefits for spouses and children
  • defining 'peer support specialist' in relation to law enforcement agencies
  • providing confidentiality protections for peer support counseling sessions
