Summary/Major Elements: Currently, community college districts participate in the “State Employees’ and Officials’ Group Insurance Plan” (Plan). Recently, the P lan provisions were amended to allow districts and Boards of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) the option of participating in the plan. This Act authorizes employees of a county, which is a political subdivision of the S tate, to be members of the Plan, upon election of the board of county commissioners and generally under the same conditions imposed for school district and BOCES participation. Provides other conditions for a county to participate in the State Group Insurance Plan. Comments: Amends major program: State Group Health Insurance NOTE: Final action on this bill was not taken at the time this summary was prepared.
