Summary for LSO115 Bill No.: HB0183 Effective : 7/1/2015 LSO No.: 15LSO-0498 Enrolled Act No.: HEA 103 Chapter No.: 161 Prime Sponsor: Petroff Catch Title: Insurance coverage-early refills of prescription eye drops. Subject: Requires health insurance coverage for early refills of prescription eye drops. Summary/Major Elements: This bill requires all public and private, individual and group health insurance policies issued after July 1, 2015, to provide coverage for: A renewal of prescription eye drops if the renewal is requested by the insured within a specified time and the original prescription states additional quantities are needed ; or One additional bottle of prescription eye drops if the bottle is requested by the insured or practitioner at the time the original prescription is filled and the original prescription states the additional bottle is needed for use in a day care center or school. This bill provides the required coverage is subject to the same deductibles and co - pays as other covered benefits.
