Subject: Worker’ s compensation coverage for county officials. Summary/Major Elements: Under current la w, an employer may elect worker’ s compensation coverage for specified employees not otherwise c overed under the Wyoming Worker’ s Compensation Act. Elected public officials, with the exception of a duly elected or appointed sheriff or coroner, are expressly excluded from those employees who may qua lify for this optional coverage. This bill creates an exception and allows a duly elected or appointed county official to be covered under the Worker’ s Compensa tion Act if the county official’ s employer elects coverage.
