Summary/Major Elements: This act: Adds wrestling and cheerleading to the list of sports covered by the Recreational Safety Act, which provides that injury is an inherent risk of certain sports and recreational opportunities. Current law requires the board of trustees of each school district to adopt protocols to address risks associated with head injuries resulting from athletic injuries. This act clarifies that implementation of the protocols is subject to the immunity provisions of the Governmental Claims Act.
