Subject: Provides appropriations for the L egislature fo r the 2017-2018 fiscal biennium Summary/Major Elements: This act: Provides appropriations for the operation of the legislative branch of government. P ro vides appropriations for the Legislative Service Office (LSO) , session staff and legislators’ salaries, per diem, mileage and any statutory benefits. P rovides for administrative costs of the LSO, legislative session s , interim activities, and publication of session laws and statutes. P rovides for legislative dues to National Conference of State Legislatures , Energy Council and Council of State Governments . Special appropriations in the act include: Carry over of previous appropriations for consultants for K-12 funding; Management Council contingency; Legislative travel related to econom ic development and attendance at the S tate Treasurer’ s conference on investment of state funds; Appropriation for new legislator training; Appropriation for legislative participation on committees and task forces.
