Subject: Statutory compliance for health care-related statutes. Summary/Major Elements: This bill make s a number of statutory changes to obsolete language related to health care and administration of the Department of Health . The bill specifies the Department of Health shall administer a state supplemental security income program. The bill expands the places and means for making application for medical assistance. The bill specifies t he Department of H ealth shall administer claims against an estate for medical assistance provided through Medicaid. The bill updates a definition in the child health insurance program statutes to include dental care as a covered benefit under the term “private health insurance.” The bill clarifies statutory language to specify when the word “department” refers to the Department of Family Services or the Department of Health. The bill r epeals provisions allowing parents and guardians of children in the child health insurance program to qualify for benefits.
