Subject: Creates the Bi cycle and Pedestrian Task Force Summary/Major Elements: This bill creates the Bicycle and Pedestrian Task Force consisting of 13 members appointed by the Governor. The bill provides the Task Force shall conduct public meetings and develop a report to help better understand the opportunities and challenges of bicycle and pedestrian pathways. In developing the report, the Task Force is directed to: Consider the health benefits of bicycl ing and pedestrian recreation; Consider opportunities for using pathways for tourism and the community; Identify and evaluate funding options for pathways and natural surface trails; Consider fatalities and accidents involving motor vehicles and bicycle and pedestrians; Consider state coordination and assistance in developing pathways and trails; Consider use of pathways and trails for people riding horses; Consider effect ive method s of construction of pathways and trails. The bill requires the Task Force to submit reports to specified agencies and legislative committees. The bill specifies the Wyoming Business Council shall staff the Task Force. Comments: Requires a report : The task force must submit a preliminary report on or before October 1, 2016, and a final report on or before October 1, 2017, to the Transportation Commission , Tourism Board, Wyoming Business Council, the Joint Travel, Recreation and Wildlife Interim Committee, and the Joint Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs Interim Committee.
