Summary/Major Elements:
The salaries of the five statewide elected officials (Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, State Treasurer and Superintendent of Public Instruction) were last increased in 2002.
This bill increases the salaries of the statewide elected officials starting January 2, 2023 as follows:
Governor from one hundred five thousand dollars ($105,000) to one hundred forty thousand dollars ($140,000);
Secretary of State, Auditor, Treasurer and Superintendent from ninety-two thousand dollars ($92,000) to one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000).
Contains appropriations to the respective elected officials’ offices to pay for the salary increases for the rest of the biennium.
