Subject: School facilities appropriations. Summary/Major Elements: This bill provides supplemental funding for the biennial budget for school facilities projects. The bill appropriates $78,694,096 from the School Capital Construction Account for capital construction, component level projects, planning projects, land leases, unanticipated co sts, charter school leases, demolition projects and emergency projects. Of the $78,694,096 appropriation, $78,324,078 is transferred from the Legislative Stabilization Reserve Account to cover the expenditure . The School Facilities Commi ssion is required to recommend and seek approval from the Governor prior to spending funds appropriated for component level projects or construction of a project or projects to address capacity and condition needs. The bill requires the study of the allocation of funds for major maintenan ce under W.S. 21-15-109(c). The expenditure for this study will be made from existing funds appropriated in the 2016 Budget Session to the School Facilities Division of the State Construction Department Comments: Requires report s by the School Facilities Commission to the Joint Appropriations Committee and the Select Committee on School Facilities by August 1, 2017.
