Subject: Election law. Summary/Major Elements: Defines “candidate” for the purposes of the Wyoming Election Code. Clarifies requirements for nomination petition signatures. Provides procedures for write-in candidates to decline election to public office. Clarifies qualifications required to hold a vacant public o ffice, including that a person must meet all applicable constitutional qualifications on the date of the person’s appointment to the public office. Modifies the distance from a poll ing place in which campaigning and campaign advertisements are permitted. Repeals provisions rela ted to write-in candidates and a prohibition against payments to referendum circulators. Comments: Effective immediately.
