Elimination of good time for violent offenders

This bill would prevent inmates and parolees serving sentences for specific violent felonies from earning time off their sentences for good behavior.

Amends state law to state that good time shall not be allowed for any inmate or parolee serving a sentence for a violent felony.
Defines 'violent felony' to include murder, manslaughter, kidnapping, sexual assault in the first or second degree, sexual abuse of a minor in the first or second degree, robbery, aggravated assault and battery, aggravated arson, or aggravated burglary.
Applies to persons convicted on or after July 1, 2018.
Sets the effective date of the act as July 1, 2018.
