Subject: Limiting the number of semesters and the costs covered under the free tuition program for combat veterans, surviving spouses or dependents. Summary/Major Elements: This bill reduces from ten (10) to eight (8) the number of semesters a combat veteran, surviving spouse or dependent may pursue study at the University of Wyoming or any Wyoming community college under the State's free tuition program. This bill limits program funding to cover tuition, not fees, and the tuition amount is amended to not exceed the University of Wyoming undergraduate rate per semester. S tudents receiving initial benefits before the immediate effective date of this act are eligible for free tuition and fees for up to a total of ten (10) semesters if the benefits are exercised before August 31 , 2020.
