Subject: Opioid addiction—education, prevention and treatment. Summary/Major Elements: Creates the Opioid Addiction Task Force to study issues relating to opioid addiction, including education, prevention and treatment. Establishes the membership and duties of the Task Force. Comments: Appropriates $25,000 to the Legislative Service Office and $40,000 to the Office of the Governor for Task Force operations. Requires a preliminary Task Force report by Octob er 1, 2018 and a final report by October 1, 2019. Requires the Legislative Service Office to staff the Task Force. Requires the appointment of two (2) members of the S enat e and two (2) members of the House of Representatives to the Task Force by the presiding officers . Effective immediately.
