Summary/Major Elements:
This bill expands the agriculture marketing program within the Wyoming business council, including requiring the development of a strategy to create beef processing plants in Wyoming.
The business council is also required to employ or contract with persons for purposes of developing new markets and expanding foreign trade efforts, including expanding international markets for Wyoming products.
The business council is required to review existing career technical education programs and develop recommendations regarding opportunities to better coordinate existing public and private programs, and develop or acquire existing career technical education facilities to further technical education in the state.
The bill creates an agriculture marketing subaccount within the ENDOW account.
The bill adds five members to the ENDOW executive council and modifies the council leadership to chairman/vice-chairman (versus co-chairmen).
The bill appropriates:
$400,000 from the general fund to the business council for international marketing activities.
$2 million to the ag marketing subaccount for agriculture marketing activities.
