Subject: Absentee polling places. Summary/Major Elements: Existing law authorizes a board of county commissioners to direct that an absentee polling place may be established in the courthouse or other public building within the county for absentee voting. If this alternative procedure for voting is used, this bill authorizes the county clerk to establish in one (1) or more public buildings within the county additional satellite absentee polling places for absentee voting. A satellite absentee polling place shall be open on the dates and at the times specified by the county clerk during the time period allowed for absentee voting.
